On my 39th birthday I went into surgery to have a tummy tuck, liposuction on my love handles, back fat and thighs. Although I was active all my life, there were still things about my body that I always hated. I am only 5 ft tall and my regular weight fluctuated between 120-130. After having 2 children, I continued to work out regularly and was able to get my 'scale' weight back down to usual, but I still felt 'chunky'. I never had a waist and my thighs always rubbed together when I wore shorts or bathing suits. Bad genes! So after all those years of watching what I ate and working out as much as possible, I still looked the same. That's when I decided to take the plunge.
I found Dr. Sigal while doing a google search. On his website they were advertising a free seminar, so I found a babysitter and took my husband with me. There were about 15-20 other prospective plastic surgery victims there. Dr. Sigal showed a slideshow about his extensive education, his personal life, different types of plastic surgery, pros and cons, before and after pictures of patients, etc... The whole time I was looking around the room trying to figure out what each person was there to fix! Anyway, both my husband and I instantly liked Dr. Sigal. He seemed very honest and straight forward when he answered questions. He also seemed very down to earth and seemed to connect with the 'potential victims' at the seminar. He did not have that 'I'm a doctor' attitude that so many doctors have.
I was a little nervous during the days leading up to the surgery, but I was more excited to get that fat sucked out! Only the first 2-3 days after the surgery were uncomfortable. My husband was a great help and took wonderful care of me. My children, 4 and 6, also were great helpers. They saw mommy bandaged up and walking funny, so they were very caring and loved to have some extra jobs around the house.
It's been about 1 year since the surgery and I feel great. Although my 'scale' weight is only a couple of pounds lighter, my stomach is totally washboard flat, love handles are gone, no more back fat sticking out underneath the bra and my legs aren't rubbing against each other when I walk! AND it can take up to a year for the final results to be visible. I am able to wear tight shirts without feeling like I have a tire around my waist.
My husband is soon going to visit Dr. Sigal for a tummy tuck and liposuction. A friend of mine is having liposuction on her thighs in April! Plastic surgery is not for everyone, but if you are thinking about it, feel free to send me an email with your questions. I would love to show you my results and talk to you in more detail about my experience.
